Planning Your Dock

If your work will need a permit, you will need a survey dated within the last 180 days. This is something you can be proactive about prior to signing any contracts.

 Marine contractors in Brevard County often have a significant backlog, so it's important to plan ahead for your project’s start date. Be sure to ask your contractor about their current schedule to set realistic expectations. 

• In Brevard County, if you’re located on a man-made canal, you can have up to 400 sq ft of total dock space, unless you also want a boathouse. If you have a boathouse, you can have a 500 sq ft boat house footprint and an additional 100 sq ft of exposed dock (600 sq ft total)
• If you're located on the main river, everything is situational, but we can go over all your options with you.
• Maximum projection  into waterway is limited to 20% of the width of your canal, or 30’ whichever is less

Replacement seawalls can be 18" in front of the old one.
